What happens when the most important parts of your life come into conflict?
We were leaders in the evangelical church when our child came out. The church proceeded to give us an impossible choice: our LGBTQ+ child or our non-affirming church. We chose our LGBTQ+ child.
That led us to start FreedHearts, our nonprofit charitable organization that has reached millions fighting for inclusion and equality and changing the conversation towards love and acceptance.
Our extensive resources, programs, and vibrant support community – for LGBTQ+ people, parents, and allies – deconstruct false, harmful religious teaching – freeing hearts to love and be loved.
